Francis Machingura is an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies and Religious Education at the University of Zimbabwe. He did his B.A (Hons), M.A in Religious Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education with the University of Zimbabwe. He then did his PhD studies in Intercultural Biblical Studies with the University of Bayreuth in Germany. He is a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst or the German Academic Exchange Service) awardee. Professor Francis Machingura is the current Chairperson of the Department of Curriculum and Arts Education. He represents the Faculty of Education in the University of Zimbabwe Research Board. He is a prolific researcher. He has researched and published several articles and book chapters on the Bible and Gender, HIV and AIDS, health and healing, Disability, Politics, masculinities, Human Rights, Children and pedagogical issues in Religious Education. He teaches courses in Biblical Studies and Religious Education. He takes special interest in Pentecostal Christianity in Africa. He has supervised a number of Masters and PhD students. He prides himself seeing prospective Masters and PhD students fulfilling their academic goals. Professor Francis Machingura is in the editorial board of the Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research (ZJER). He is also involved in the training of pastors and educators. He was once the academic dean and Acting Principal at Living Waters Theological Seminary of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe.
